Located in the Charama region of India, in the Kanker district of the tribal Bastar region, are some of the most enigmatic petroglyphs of the entire country, so strange that many believe the subject of the paintings might actually represent alien beings.

Strangely enough, the figures are indeed portrayed with non-human features, such as round, elongated heads, no facial traits, or wearing headdresses that resemble space helmets.

For these reasons, many refer to the drawings as “the Charama Aliens”.

Dating back to 10.000 years ago, their discovery baffled the Chhattisgarh State Department of Archaeology and Culture so much that they sought help from NASA and Isro to better identify the drawings.

Adding to their mystery, there is no actual link between them and any culture that thrived in India during that period of time.

The Indian archaeologist interviewed by the TOI, J.R.Bhagat, told their microphones that “the findings suggest that humans in prehistoric times may have seen or imagined beings from other planets, which creates curiosity among people and researchers”, but also that Chhattisgarh doesn’t have an expert that could better study the subject at the moment.

It is interesting to note that the villagers around the area have folkloristic legends about the “Rohela People”, beings that came from the sky in vehicles similar to the Vimana of Hindu mythology.
