Adam's Calendar

Adam's Calendar, Megalithic South African Stone Circle

The Blaauboschkraal Stone Ruins, also known as Adam’s Calendar, might be the oldest megalithic stone circle and menhir system ever discovered. It is located near the Mpumalanga (meaning “the place where the sun rises” in the Zulu language) province of South Africa, on the top of a sloping cliff to the south known as the Transvaal escarpment, an area rich in quartzite and gold deposits.

The site was originally declared a national monument on 18 April 1975.

The stones are all dolomite, weighing up to 5 tons each, and are said to have been transported from a distant site.

The reason why this structure has been classified as a calendar is due to the fact that it is arranged in such a way as to follow the evolution of the sun throughout the course of the year: as the sun moves during the seasons, the shadow projected on the rocks moves in the same way.

Adam's Calendar, Megalithic South African Stone Circle

Adam’s Calendar is made of a large number of seemingly randomly scattered rocks, a small percentage of which have been placed to create a circle, in all there are a dozen stones that appear to have been placed upright, including two about 2 and a half meters high that stand out in the middle. The original shape is still clearly visible from the satellite images. Among the ruins are the first pyramid shaped symbols and some details carved in the rocks depict the Ankh symbol, used by the Egyptians thousands of years later, as well as some Dogon symbols, a tribe from Mali with inexplicable astronomical knowledge. Interestingly, the site was erected along the same meridian as the Great Pyramid of Giza.

From the position of the monoliths and from the measurements made by Heine the circular structure was deliberately designed to align with the cardinal points of the Earth, and with the equinoxes and solstices.

Heine believes he has identified various solar alignments, including a particularly interesting one involving three reclining stones which, in his opinion, were once vertically oriented towards the 3 stars of Orion’s belt.

So far this would come as no surprise since many prehistoric sites appear to contain this type of alignment. However, South African researcher and authority on the site Michael Tellinger, and astronomer Bill Hollenbach, further investigated the site and made calculations, finding that the alignment of the stones would only coincide with the position of Orion’s belt as it was in the sky about 75,000 years ago.

Moreover, a further calculation done in June 2009, suggested an age of at least 160,000 years, based on the rise of Orion ‘flat on the horizon’ but also on the ‘erosion of dolerite stones’ found at the site.

Adam's Calendar Orion Correlation

If the calculations are true, Adam’s Calendar would indeed be the oldest megalithic stone circle ever discovered with an astronomical alignment.

“I deal with research on the origins of mankind and the true history of the planet. I started showing interest in this type of subject in 1979, during my first year of university. Adam’s Calendar is the main place where my study takes place. It was designed to be aligned with the four cardinal points, N-S-E-W, but also features a stone carved in the shape of a hawk. I am of the opinion that it is related to the Egyptian divinity Horus. This sculpture marks the sunrise during the vernal equinox in the southern hemisphere of the planet. This appears to be the oldest stone sculpture of Horus ever found to date. It is known that Horus always represents the rising of the sun, so this could mean that we are in front of the place where the primeval Horus rises.” adds Dr.Tellinger.

Adam's Calendar, a Megalithic South African Stone Circle

The clues seem to show that we are facing what was perhaps the largest and most mysterious civilization on Earth.

The latest and most interesting discovery of the stone circles and Adam’s Calendar is the sound frequencies of the rock formations from the earth below them. With the aid of modern technology, Tellinger and other scientists have also been able to detect and measure sound frequencies with acoustic properties made from the earth inside the circles which conduct electricity.

These sound frequencies of the earth under the stones are shaped as flowers of sacred geometry as they surface to the ground.

According to the South African researcher, “the photographs, artifacts and evidence we have accumulated undoubtedly point to a lost and unknown civilization, as it precedes all others – not by a few hundred years, or a few thousand years … but by many thousands of years. years. These findings are so impressive that they will not be easily digested by official opinion, historians and archaeologists, as we have already experienced. A complete paradigm shift is needed in our way of seeing our human history “.
